Cardiology


Vu D. Nguyen, M.D.

Dr. Vu Nguyen received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class.  He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine and Fellowship training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.  Dr. Nguyen’s special interests include non-invasive cardiovascular imaging and preventative cardiology.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  Dr Nguyen is also board certified in Nuclear Cardiology.  He is a member of the Travis County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association.  Dr. Nguyen is bilingual, speaking both English and Vietnamese fluently.  The most common conditions Dr. Nguyen manages include coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, heart arrhythmias, heart valve disease, and hypertension, with symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, blackouts, and abnormal EKG’s.  Dr. Nguyen has a particular interest in preventative cardiology.


Earl Dixon, M.D.

Dr. Earl Dixon was raised in Atlanta, Georgia where he graduated Cum Laude from Georgia Institute of Technology with his Bachelor of Science degree.  He was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree.  New Orleans, Louisiana’s Ochsner Foundation Hospital served as the site for Dr. Dixon’s residency and fellowship training in cardiology and internal medicine.  During his time in Louisiana, Dr. Dixon received his Master of Medical Management degree from Tulane University.  He also served  in the United States Air Force.  Dr. Dixon is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Heart Association.  Dr. Dixon and his wife reside in Austin and enjoy cooking, wine, golf, travel, and music.


Jonathan Sheinberg, M.D.

Dr. Jonathan Sheinberg received his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, where he also completed a rotating internship.  He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at USAF Medical Center Keesler, Kessler Air Force Base, Mississippi.  Dr. Sheinberg completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.  He has served in the United States Air Force, being deployed oversease during US military operations in Haiti and southwest Asia.  Dr. Sheinberg has served as assistant professor of medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.  Dr. Sheinberg is trained in both invasive and noninvasive cardiology, performing cardiac catheterization, pacemaker implantation, transthoracic and transesophogeal echocardiography, and other noninvasive cardiac procedures.  Dr. Sheinberg is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to perform cardiac nuclear testing.  He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and is a member of the Travis County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association.
