HOSPITAL AND AUXILIARY WORK TOGETHER TO IMPROVE HEALTHCARE
Rockdale, Texas, October 10, 2006 - The assisted living outside garden area will be receiving a face lift this Saturday. The hospital auxiliary is donating a gazebo to the assisted living facility at Richards Memorial Hospital. The hospital has already poured the cement octagonal pad which the gazebo will be placed on. Saturday, October 14th from 8am-12pm, numerous helpers are expected to assist with the erection of the gazebo. The gazebo has been built by Fall’s Furniture, who will bring the it and some workers to Richards Memorial Hospital on Saturday. The donation, by the auxiliary, of such a large project was made possible with help from Alcoa. The hospital auxiliary received Alcoa’s $3,000 “Action Grant” which they have put toward the cost of the wonderful gazebo. In addition, Alcoa will ask 10 of their employees to donate 4 hours of their time toward building the gazebo. The Alcoa volunteers will be welcomed to the assisted living facility and will combine their efforts with Fall’s Furniture employees and hospital auxiliary members to finish the gazebo project this Saturday, October 14, from 8am-12pm. Gail Crawford, Director of the Assisted Living wing at Richards Memorial Hospital, hails this as a “momentous occasion for the assisted living residents, which will provide them with a protected, shady place to spend their time”.
