Emergency Department

Richards Memorial Hospital is classified by the State of Texas as a Level IV Trauma Center.  As the only Level IV Trauma Center in Milam County, the RMH Emergency Department provides 24-hour emergency care to critically ill and seriously injured patients.   

The facility offers state-of-the-art technology to facilitate emergency care for patients.  The nursing staff consists of professional registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, and technicians.  Little River Healthcare System provides experienced board-certified and board-eligible physicians to meet the medical needs of the Emergency Department.  A helipad, located at the front of Richards Memorial Hospital, allows for rapid helicopter transport of critically ill or injured patients to nearby major trauma centers.
